The lingering fuel scarcity in the country may continue till after the festive season, Energy Worth investigation has revealed.

Many stakeholders are of the opinion that the scarcity may be the Federal Government's Xmas gift to Nigerians.

Since the Independent Petroleum Markers Association of Nigeria threatened to shut down over 900 filling stations in Lagos and Ogun states by December 11, the country has not recovered from the attendant fuel scarcity that followed the threat.

Also, the IPMAN had promised to carry out the threat if the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) continued to undersupply petrol to its members. The association accused the NNPC of supplying petrol to private depot owners and undersupplying the corporation’s Ejigbo Depot, which serves more than 900 filling stations in Lagos.
