REA MD, Damilola Ogunbiyi visit Reps, defend 37 varsities' electrification project

The Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi was at the public hearing on Rural Electrification Schemes in some Universities which held on the 25th January, 2018 at the National Assembly Complex.

The Energizing Education Programme (EPP) is designed to provide uninterrupted power to 37 Federal Universities and 7 University Teaching hospitals. The PHASE ONE of the programme will provide power to 9 Federal Universities and 1 University teaching hospital.


Ogunbiyi defended the project with assurance that it will strengthen varsities access to uninterrupted power supply.



The PHASE ONE of the EPP will provide uninterrupted power to 9 FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES and 1 UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL as well as the surrounding University Communities. The EEP attempts to address the major challenge of access to uninterrupted power to Federal Universities and Teaching Hospitals to improve the quality of Education and Healthcare in the country.
